THESE PICS ARE ALL ON OUR 8 ACRES.
The property is in three sections. One third is the house, yard and pasture. One third is open hardwood forest and trails, one third is a thicket that is home to the whitetail deer.

This is the view across our pasture.

The trees in the background is the start of the one third of our property that is open hardwood. This open area is where we really race our carts. Soon it will be a fenced horse pasture.

This is the entrance to our trail system
This in the corner of our pasture. We tried to cut trails where it would do the least impact on the forest. This natural opening to the woods was already here.
Here we go into the woods
The trail falls off quickly down hill to a seasonal creek. Brakes are a must here unless you like speed and bumps!
Down the hill to the seasonal creek
A plywood bridge now covers the deepest part of the ditch. It alows us to cross at a faster speed. At least until a monster rain takes it away.
Up the hill toward the thicket area of the property
Trails were cut in the natural opens in the forest. As such they are curvy and you have to keep your mind on what you are doing. we tried to recreate many of the conditions found in general trail riding.
Across the edge of the thicket.
There are some places where you can run flat out.
Back down the hill toward the seasonal creek again.
You have got to watch what you you are doing or hook a tree with your wheel. Still if you are good enough you can fly.
Around the curve back toward the creek.
Once you cross the seasonal creek again its back up the hill toward the pasture.
Back up the hill to the pasture.
Start winding it up there's a hill to climb here.
Here's the hill.
It is hard to see the grade but its here.
Out of the world of perpetual twilight into the sun.
Watch out for the bump in the foregound. At speed you will leave your seat. From this opening you break out into the pasture and its wide open racing there!
Road Boss Wildcat 6 HP with torque convertor and all terrain tires.
This is a rock solid cart. It does not have suspension and such is a handfull to drive over rough terrain at speed. In spite of that Hunter is hard to catch in the woods even in a fully suspended cart like the Yerf Dog 3200.
Work in Progress--YERF ROCKET
The Yerf Rocket or Hell Hound is a concept that came up very soon after my first rides with the stock Yerf Dog over tough trails.

I decided to replace the 6 HP Tecumseh MotoSport with a Tecumseh Star 10 that is bred for racing and is dyno rated at 16 to 20 HP. Of course that dictated the inclusion of a larger, tougher torque converter, a 44 Mag Series Comet, and a new heavy jackshaft setup. The Star does not come with its on fuel tank so I tracked down a round polished aluminum 3.5 gallon one like used on dune buggies.

This is an archive picture now. The Tecumseh Star 10 proved to be too difficult to start with a conventional recoil starter and was not suitable to electric start conversion. So it was replaced by a 13 HP OHV Honda.
YERF ROCKET HELL HOUND
This is the almost finished product. 13 HP OHV Honda engine with 10 amp charging system and electric start, 21x7x10 Titan Fast Treker front tires, 22x11x8 rear tires, front and rear four bolt hubs from Northern, high power driving lights, battery, AZUSA 42" flex-proof 1" live axle, AZUSA 6" drum brake
